THE TASTE OF TUSCANY day tour
An afternoon tour to Siena, Monteriggioni and the Chianti region with dinner included.

Florence, its museums, momuments and markets then come away from the crowds on an afternoon trip to some of the most beautiful local towns in Tuscany.
First stop will be in Monteriggioni, a 13th century medieval town stage of the famous movie “The Gladiator”. In here you will be able to admire the wonderful views of the area and the Tuscan countryside from the ancient walls or explore the small shops selling the local handcraft.
The second stop will be at the historic city of Siena where you will be enchanted by the architectural styles of the Cathedral, the Mangia Bell Tower and the Palazzo Pubblico in Piazza del Campo, the venue of the famous Palio horse race held twice a year in July and August. In Siena you will have free time to wander around and discover the hidden beauties of this magical town.
The third stop will be in a local winery. You will be visiting the cellars with useful explanations given by an expert and you will discover the traditions of the wine making art followed by a wine tasting at the end. In the winery you will be able to buy the local products at a convenient cost either to bring back home or to the local farm later in the day to drink while enjoying the dinner with your new friends.
Finally we will reach an authentic Tuscan farm in the heart of the famous Chianti Classico region for dinner. Here begins the serious task of tasting locally produced Tuscan products, including pecorino cheese accompanied by various tasty jams, home made cured meats, mixed salad, seasoned vegables and fresh extra virgin olive oil on bread right before returning back to Florence.

This was one of the best tours I took in Italy. Irene was an excellent tour guide who grew up in the region. She was very informative and we never had a dull moment. The tours were organized well and the meeting point was easy to find. We drank a lot of wine and enjoyed a true tuscan lunch. If you are in Florence and have the time I definitely recommended taking this tour.

" Best tour ever! (We're serious)
This trip exceeded our expectations! Every place we went to was beautiful and our local hosts were extremely welcoming and easy to talk to! Our tour guide, Irene, was amazing and felt more like a close friend than a tour guide. It was a true authentic experience, from driving the picturesque back roads to eating lunch at the home of the cutest Italian man. We had plenty of time at each location, and we able to try local cuisine and delicious homemade wine. As college students, the trip was affordable but worth every single penny. It was a fantastic day, and after being here for 3 months, we can say this was easily one of our favorite days on our study abroad experience.
